Intellectual Property

Genetic Immunity has over 35 issued patents and pending patent applications worldwide. The Company's intellectual property relates to the development of a large group of products based on sequence modification and represents:

  1. HIV plasmid DNA material
  2. DermaVir nanomedicine formulation
  3. Topical delivery of genes into antigen-presenting cells (APCs) of the skin
  4. Broader technology for immune system amplification via DNA-encoded antigens expressed in APCs

Genetic Immunity's policy is to seek U.S. and international patent protection for technological developments that could enhance its nanomedicine candidates' potential market positions and methods of use.

Genetic Immunity's issued IP covers the following:

NanoComp nanomedicine composition:

  • Use of 1) any plasmid DNA as the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in the nanomedicine composition, or 2) any nanoparticle formulation based on disease-specific plasmid DNA
  • Provision for second and third generation patent protected products
  • Bandwidth to expand focus indications using the same NanoComp platform

DermaPrep topical nanomedicine administration platform:

  • New medical device for topical (needle free) in vivo nanomedicine delivery, i.e. plasmid DNA, to lymph node dendritic cells

DermaVir Patch

  • Use of NanoComp nanoparticles with patented HIV-specific plasmid DNA as the API

Genetic Immunity(R) also has a U.S. federal trademark registration (R) for "Genetic Immunity".
