Mechanism of Action

DermaVir Patch's specific pharmacologic effects represent an antiviral approach that differs from all existing therapies by amplifying the immune system to kill HIV-infected cells. While all other currently prescribed therapies for HIV/AIDS interfere with the viral life cycle, none of them can reconstitute HIV-specific immunity in immune suppressed individuals or achieve sustained antiviral response if daily treatment is interrupted.
