John Kenneth Hautman, Esq. has been Director of Business Development since 2007.
Mr. Hautman was appointed as the General Counsel in 2008. He has assisted technology companies for over
25 years in the areas of intellectual property, corporate, fundraising and business strategy. From 1993
through 2006, he was a senior partner and a co-head of the Intellectual Property Practice for the international
law firm of Hogan & Hartson LLP, based in Washington D.C. He has co-founded two biotech firms and has extensive
experience guiding technology firms through private placements. Mr. Hautman has led negotiations for a wide variety
of business transactions in the areas of biotech, IT, genomics and life sciences. Specific commercial transactions
include the structuring and negotiation of joint ventures, strategic alliances, technology transfers and licensing
arrangements. Mr. Hautman has negotiated agreements in the E.U., Russia and central Europe. He is a graduate of the
University of Virginia Law School.
